Kingsmen Fall to Lutes at Home

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University baseball took their second loss in three games as the Kingsmen fell to the Pacific Lutheran Lutes 4-2 on Friday afternoon. 

The loss sends the Kingsmen to 12-3 on the year, while improving the Lutes to 10-5. 

The Cal Lutheran bats were kept quiet over the first five innings as Pacific Lutheran scored two runs in the both the third and fifth. 

The Kingsmen broke through in the sixth and cut the lead in half. Zach Lafata flied out to right field for a sacrifice fly as Kyle Reuser raced home. Cal Lutheran's next run came from Nick Fusari as Max Heverly brought him in with a single. 

The Purple and Gold had two runners left on base over the next three innings as the Lutes picked up a good win. 

Cal Lutheran will try and split the series with Pacific Lutheran as the teams play a second game on Friday. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
