Kingsmen Fall After 11 Innings

ORANGE, Calif. - It came down to a call at home plate in the bottom of the 11th in today's matchup between the Kingsmen and the Panthers. The Purple and Gold were unable to outlast Chapman, ending the game in a 4-5 deficit.

The Kingsmen went up 1-0 in the top of the first with good base running by Max Heverly. The scoring remained silent on both ends until the Kingsmen got back on the board in the top of the third.

Kyle Reuser hit a single into center field, getting Heverly across home plate for the second time. Joseph Scalzo recorded an RBI with a single to left field that scored Reuser.

Brendan Durfee got in the mix with an RBI single to center field. Austin Carrillo was the fourth and final Kingsmen to cross home plate.

The Purple and Gold had the 4-0 lead going into the sixth but that is where the scoring stopped. The Panthers fought back and took it after 11 innings.

Chris Torres started on the mound and stayed there for seven innings. Clay Rickerman and Bryan Tierney split an inning while Will Watson finished it off for 2.2 innings.

The Kingsmen host the Panthers tomorrow in hopes of getting a comeback series win.
