CLAREMONT, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse wrapped up their 2023 season at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday night. The Sagehens took the game with a score of 24-2.

This year, the Regals set many season records. Sydney Shin broke the program record for goals, assists, points, and draw controls while Bella Bravo set a new record for saves.

It's a bright future for Regals Lacrosse as both Shin and bravo are freshman. Shin tallied 24 goals and three assists for a total of 21 points. She added 38 draw controls. Bravo was a force in front of the goal and had 181 saves.

Against the Sagehens, Meghan Angus led the way with two goals and Shin recorded an assist. Six different Regals had two ground balls, Josie Oparanaku had three draw controls, and Sin had two caused turnovers. Bravo protected the goal with 14 saves.

The top-ranked team in the SCIAC jumped all over the Regals. Pomona-Pitzer scored the first nine goals before Angus and the Regals broke through. The Sagehens shut out the Regals in the second and third quarters, scoring six and four, respectively.

Angus added her second goal in the fourth quarter, and the Sagehens got three more, as they coasted to the win.

Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse graduates one and brings back a young core that is ready to make some noise in 2024.
