THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse team celebrated senior night for the team's only senior, Emily Schumacher, on Wednesday night. It was a SCIAC matchup with Redlands and the Bulldogs defeated the Regals 17-9.

The matchup began with the Bulldogs controlling the opening period. Redlands scored 10 goals in the quarter.

The second quarter saw the two teams going back-and-forth for almost ten minutes when Giselle Bonilla put the Regals on the board with her 12th goal of the season. The Bulldogs tacked on 2 more goals to bring the halftime score to 12-1.

Redlands scored three goals to open the third quarter, but the Regals were able to answer as Kendall Fleming found Sydney Shin beat the Bulldog defense. Shin scored her second goal just two minutes later. The Bulldogs scored to slow the Regal momentum, but Meghan Angus scored to end the quarter with the score 16-4.

The teams played a tight fourth quarter as they traded goals. Redlands scored first, only to be answered by Shin's third goal of the match and program record 18th of the season. Angus then scored her second of the match to bring her season total to 13. After another Bulldog goal, Josie Oparanaku earned a free position and scored her 10th goal of the season. The Bulldogs scored one more before the horn to make the final score 19-7.

The Regals will be on the road for their final match of the season when they face off against conference leading Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
