WHITTIER, Calif. – Goalkeeper Bella Bravo broke the Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse saves record as she tallied 25 against Whittier on Monday night. Her saves weren't enough as the Poets defeated the Regals 20-3.

The record to start the year was 18 saves. Bravo broke that earlier this year and had 19 saves on March 1. She bested that and was a wall versus the Poets.

Whittier scored the first four goals up of the game and had an early lead. Cal Lutheran scored twice to end the quarter and were only down 4-2. The Poets came out on fire in the second quarter and outscored the Regals 11-1. Whittier took a 15-3 lead at the half. In the second half, the defenses prevailed with only five goals being scored. The Poets held the Regals quiet, but only scored two in the third and three in the fourth, as they took the game.

Sydney Shin scored two goals and added one assist and Giselle Bonilla had a goal. Mia Deck had three ground balls and Shin and Meghan Angus had three draw controls each.

The Regals continue the season on the road. Cal Lutheran is at Chapman on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
