Cox Earns Second Team All-America

GREENSBORO, N.C. California Lutheran University's Evan Cox earned Second Team All-America for his performance in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday afternoon at the Irwin Belk Track.

Cox crossed the finish line with 53.42 seconds and came in 10th to represent Cal Lutheran Track & Field with the All-America honor. It is the first such honor of his career.

Cox was in the second of three heats. The junior ran the third-best in his heat, out of six runners. The top two from each heat qualified for the finals on Saturday, followed by the next two best times.



This season, Cox was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Track Athlete of the Year. He added to his trophy case and garnered U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Region.
