Nybo, Zamecki Earn All-SCIAC Honors; Kingsmen Remain Third

COMMERCE, Calif. — California Lutheran's Andreas Nybo and Zach Zamecki earned All-SCIAC honors on day three of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Swimming and Diving Championships which was held at the Brenda Villa Aquatic Center.

Pomona-Pitzer is in the lead with 809.5 points. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is second with 683 and CLU rounds out the top-three with 389.

Nybo put up a B Cut mark in the 100-yard breaststroke. He took home All-SCIAC honors as he finished with a time of 56.10 seconds. Brian Bender also competed in the event and placed 11th with a time of 58.44.

Zamecki turned in his All-SCIAC performance in the 200-yard freestyle. He raced to a quick time of 1:40.68. Jonah Hobbs placed eighth in the same event and had a time of 1:42.76. Liam McCallum won the 200-yard free B Final as he finished 10th-place with a time of 1:41.86. Nick Kenny took home 16th as he finished with a time of 1:43.56.

Ben Brewer was just shy of the medal stand as he finished fourth in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:00.75. His time made the B Cut.

The relay team of Jacob Frigard, Liam McCallum, Nybo and Zamecki came in fourth in the 400-yard medley relay with a time 3:24.11.

Frigard scored more points for the Kingsmen as he placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time 50.11. Davy Thomas had the best finish for the Violet and Gold in the 100-yard backstroke as he came in at 52.51.  

The final day of the SCIAC Championships is Saturday and starts at 9 a.m.
