Nybo Earns First Team All-America and Honorable Mention All-America

INDIANAPOLIS — California Lutheran's Andreas Nybo earned First Team All-America as he placed seventh in the 200-yard butterfly on day three of the Division III NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Indiana University Natatorium. He followed it up with Honorable Mention All-America in the 100-yard breaststroke.

This is the second straight year that a Kingsmen has garnered First Team All-America at the NCAA Championships. Ben Brewer was fourth in the 1,650-yard free last year.

In the prelims of the 200-yard fly, Nybo finished with a time of 1:48.48 and qualified for the finals. He bettered his time in the finals as he clocked in at 1:48.28 and took home seventh-place. He earned First Team All-America with his performance. His time set a new school record.

Up next for Nybo was the 100-yard breast. It was a quick turnaround and happened 15 minutes after his 200 fly race. He finished with a time of 55.90 and was 15th. He earned Honorable Mention All-America with the finish. His time of 55.76 in the prelims lowered his school record.

Cal Lutheran has garnered three All-American honors in 2018. The final day of the championships is Saturday. You can watch the live stream at NCAA.com.
