Redpath Named Division III All-Academic Athlete by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Veronica Redpath recently received recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as a Division III All-Academic Athlete. This is the first time a Cal Lutheran women's cross-country student-athlete has received the award since 2013.

Following an impressive 2019 cross-country season where the sophomore earned All-West Region honors, Redpath (Seattle, Wash.) is currently majoring in Film and Television with a minor in multimedia and mathematics.

She highlights both the men's and women's cross-country programs at Cal Lutheran that each earned Team All-Academic honors for the eighth-straight season.

"I'm extremely proud of Veronica and the dedication that she has shown not only on the track during practices and meets but, more importantly, in the classroom," said Head Coach Matt Lea.   "It is not an easy feat to become an Academic Athlete.  In order to do so, you have to be very dedicated and be at the highest level both in the classroom and in your sport and that is exactly what Veronica has achieved.  I'm very proud of her and can't wait for the rest of this upcoming track and field season as well as the next few years with her."

The sophomore competed in all six events for the Regals and led the team in every race during the 2019 season.

Redpath and Cal Lutheran look ahead to the 2020 as she attempts to have a successful track and field campaign.
