Regals Set Several Personal Records at UC Riverside Invitational

RIVERSIDE, Calif.– The California Lutheran University women's cross-country team put together some solid performances at the UC Riverside Invitational, as all four Regal women ran faster on the course than they did last season.

"I felt the meet went really well," said Head Coach Matt Lea. "I was really proud of how they executed the race strategy and competed hard. The weather was hot, and it's not easy to run in this type of weather, but they still went out and ran their races. I felt we did exactly what we needed to do this early in the season."

Veronica Redpath posted the best time of the day for Cal Lutheran, racing to her personal best time of 23:47.59. The sophomore would finish 126thon the day and notched the 4thfastest course time in school history

Carolina Slate was not far behind, logging a lifetime best time by over 50 seconds, coming in with a time of 23:57.28. This was good enough for the 5thfastest course time in Cal Lutheran history

Putting in another solid time was Rachel Ereso, crossing the line at 23:57.38, the sixth best CLU time at UC Riverside.

Olivia Becker also had a great day, also posting a personal best time of 24:49.40

Cal Lutheran returns to action Sept. 28 at 7 a.m. when the Regals compete in the Master's Invitational in Santa Clarita, Calif.
