Regals Record Eight Top-10 Marks in the Nation

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — With the season just getting started, the Cal Lutheran women's track & field team stood out as the Regals posted eight top-10 marks nationally.

The Regals had just three meets under their belt, as their 2020 season came to a halt. As they put up top marks, they were looking like a contender in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and had their sights set on the NCAA Championships.

The seniors were a big part of the success. Ana Cordoba, Kayla Cross, Kendall Guidetti, Megan Pollock and Morgan Snyder left a big mark on the program, one that won't be forgotten. Leading the team, the senior class combined for four top-10 marks in the nation this year.

The events with top-10 marks included 100 meters, 1500 meters, 400 meter hurdles, 4x100 meter relay, long jump, triple jump, discus, and hammer.

Cordoba (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) has been with the program all four years, and competed in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. She was part of the 4x100 relay that had the sixth best time in the nation with 49.63 seconds. She also had the 12th best time in the 200 meters (26.28) and 15th best in the 100 meters (12.69). In the Cal Lutheran record books, she sits fourth in the 100 meters (12.24), fifth in the 200 meters (25.75), and she is on three top-10 4x100 meter relay teams.

Cross (Bakersfield, Calif.) has been a pole vaulter for the Purple and Gold for the past four years. At two of the three SCIAC Championships, she finished fifth with heights of 3.22 and 3.07 meters. She has tied for the third best mark in program history as she achieved a height of 3.25 meters last year. In 2020, she currently ranks 11th in the nation with a height of 2.90 meters. She added a National Strength and Conditioning Association's All-American honor this year. She has also excelled in the classroom and is a member of the CLU Scholar-Athlete Society.

Guidetti (Oak Park, Calif.) is an All-American as she was Honorable Mention after finishing 10th at the NCAA Championships in 2019. She has earned two USTFCCA All-Region honors, both in the long jump. Her quest for a fourth-straight long jump title in the SCIAC came to an end, but she will go down as one of the greatest lump jumpers in Division III history. With the program for the past four years, she has competed in long jump, 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 meter relay. This year, she ranks first in the long jump (5.76 meters) and eighth in the 100 meters (12.48). She holds the program record for long jump (5.85) and is fifth in the 100 meters (12.27). She is a member of the CLU Scholar-Athlete Society.

Pollock (Huntington Beach, Calif.) has competed all four years as a pole vaulter for the Regals. Last year, she just narrowly missed an All-SCIAC honor as she took fourth at the SCIAC Championships with a height of 3.22 meters. She was on pace to continue to climb in the records books, but after the season came to an end, she is fifth in the CLU record books after her performance at the championships. This season, she ranked 11th in the nation with 2.90 meters. She is a member of the CLU Scholar-Athlete Society.

Snyder (Woodland Hills, Calif.) rounds out the decorated senior class and competed for the Rehals in the javelin, triple jump and high jump for the past four years. She has excelled in the triple jump and has the second best mark in program history with 11.19 meters. She also ranks sixth in the javelin with 33.31 meters. She earned All-SCIAC honors during her sophomore season and was third in the triple jump with 11.19 meters. In the nation this year, Snyder ranked sixth in the triple jump for 11.01 meters. She is a member of the CLU Scholar-Athlete Society.
