Claire Cornejo Earns All-SCIAC

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. Claire Cornejo of Cal Lutheran Women's Golf and was named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Team. It is her first All-SCIAC honor. 

The 2021 All-SCIAC Women's Golf honors were announced Thursday. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cal Lutheran, Chapman and Redlands were the lone participants for the SCIAC during the Spring of 2021. All-SCIAC is usually two teams, but was changed to one, with only three schools competing this season.  

Cornejo (Bakersfield, Calif.) led the Regals at the SCIAC Championships and placed seventh with a score of 25-over-par (80-81-80-241). The sophomore was the top golfer for the Purple and Gold in four of the five tournaments this spring. Her best finish was tied for fifth at the SCIAC #2 with 16-over-par (80-80-160). Her lowest tournament score was 13-over-par (78-79-157) which she accomplished at the CLU Regals Invitational. She led the team with a scoring average of 79.91.
