Ng Secures Top-10 At Bulldog Classic; Regals Finish Fourth

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's team finished fourth at the Bulldog Classic which was held at The S at Rancho Mirage. The Regals shot 66-over-par with 642 strokes. They recorded a 329 on day one and improved with a 313 on day two. 

The tournament featured four teams and 28 individuals. The golfers shot 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes Sunday. Redlands took the team title and individual title. 

Tara Ng was the top finisher for the Regals and came in ninth-place. She shot an 8-over-par 80 on day one. She fired a team-best 75 over the final 18 holes for a total of 155 strokes. She moved up four spots on the day. Ng tied for the third-best scoring average on Par 4's with 4.25. 

Claire Cornejo and Haley Brown tied for 16th with 162 strokes. C. Cornejo finished with an 86 on day one. She fired 10 strokes better on the second day to move up five spots. Brown shot a 78 over the first 18 holes and carded an 84 over the next 18 . 

Grace Mitchell shot a 13-over-par 85 over the first 18 holes and an 81 over the final 18. She tied for 18th with 166 strokes.

Grace Cornejo finished with a two-day total of 168 strokes. She shot 15-over-par on Saturday with a 87. She improved on day two to shoot an 81 and finished in 22nd-place

Anna Bello competed as an individual. She shot a 90 on day one and 92 on day two for. She finished in 25th with 182 strokes 

The Regals have one more tournament before the SCIAC Championship. The Purple and Gold will travel to Beaumont, Calif., for the SCIAC #2 on April 10-11 at Tukwet Canyon.
