Regals Fall to Panthers Twice on Saturday

ORANGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran softball was defeated twice on Saturday as the Regals fell to Chapman 12-0 and 7-2.

The first game only lasted five innings as the Panthers' bats exploded for nine runs in the third inning.

The Regals only managed four hits in the game as Ariana Mendoza, Emily Blank, Natalie Winokur and Natalie Luna each had one.

The pitching staff had three different Regals in the circle. Sammy Edmonds started the game and took the loss. Meghan Henry and Jackie Diaz also threw. The pitchers could not handle the Panther's bats and the Regals bats could not get going.

In the second game, the Panthers jumped all over the Regals again. Chapman put up seven runs in four innings and took a big lead.

Cal Lutheran got two runs back in the sixth. With two runners on, Rilee Grau singled to center field, scoring Blank and Megan Dillon. That was all the Regals could push across as Sienna Perez took the loss in the 7-2 game.

The Regals continue the season with Redlands on Saturday, May 1, for a double header starting at 12 p.m.
