THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran softball celebrated senior day on Friday and honored Meghan Henry, Sienna Perez and Natalie Winokur.

The Regals took on La Verne, the first action between the two team's this year, and the Leopards came out on top 14-1 in five innings.

Natalie Luna scored the lone run for the Regals with an RBI from Jamie Bingaman in the bottom of the second inning.

Bingaman, Mia Onesto, Genevieve Avalos, and Isabella Ortiz each tallied a hit on the afternoon.

Three Regals pitchers saw the mound as Henry, Perez, and Taryn Faull all saw action in the circle. Together the three had six strike outs.

La Verne came out strong in the second inning, scoring five runs and widening the gap to 6-0.

The Purple and Gold tried to gain momentum from Luna's run, but the deficit was too big as the Leopards would capitalize on the game in the fourth and end it in the fifth inning.

The Regals look for redemption on Sunday, at La Verne with a doubleheader. The first game starts at 12 p.m.
