THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The California Lutheran women's water polo team had a doubleheader Saturday and the Regals went 2-0 as they defeated Whittier 11-4 and then knocked off Connecticut College 8-4 at the Samuelson Aquatics Center.

The Regals improved to 13-5 and are now 5-0 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

Bailey Meyer was in the cage the whole time against Whittier and tallied 11 saves. For the game with Connecticut, Meyer played the first three quarters and had six saves. Miara Pipe played the fourth quarter and had two saves.

Against Whittier, the Regals took an early 1-0 lead. Quick passing from Nikki Roed, to McGee, to Meek, had Meek wide opened in front of the goal. She put the ball in the upper left corner and Cal Lutheran had the lead. Whittier tied the game up a few minutes later and it was 1-1 at the end of the first.

The Regals opened up the lead in the second quarter as Roed, Megan Seeman and McGee each scored a goal. Meyer had seven saves in the first half as CLU was up 4-1.

In the second half, CLU picked up right where it left off in the first. They outscored the Poets 3-1 in the third quarter and had a 7-2 lead. The Regals kept putting up the points in the fourth quarter. Cal Lutheran combined for four more goals and won 11-4. CLU's offense was on point and was 7-for-12 on power play opportunities.

In the game with Connecticut, Wilkison and Jayci Burrell scored in the first quarter and CLU had an early 2-0 lead. Wilkinson and Jay Clerou both scored in the second and CLU was up 4-1 at the half.

Remy converted another goal for a hat trick with 6:11 left in the third. Not even a minute later, she added the fourth. In the fourth quarter, Cunefare got in on the fun and added a goal. Wilkinson then scored her fifth goal with 3:57 left in the game. CLU won the game 8-4 and went 2-0 on the day.
