Four Regal Golfers Earn All-American Scholar; A First in Program History

(CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — July 6, 2023) Cal Lutheran women's golfers Anna Bello, Claire Cornejo, Grace Mitchell, and Tara Ng have been named to the 2022-23 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team.

It is the first time in program history the Regals have had four named to the list. Mitchell and Ng made if for the third time while Bello and Cornejo earned the honor for the first time. The quartet is all seniors. 

The All-American Scholar Team was announced today with 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 programs recognized with this prestigious honor. 

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high level academic achievements of our players.

To be selected, a student-athlete must:

  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
