Regals Runner-Up, Legacion Tied for Sixth at Schreiner Shootout

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — For the third straight tournament, Cal Lutheran women's golf is the runner-up. The Regals finished 49-over-par at the Schreiner Shootout as they continue to impress. 

The tournament featured eight teams and 46 individuals. Golfers shot 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday at Comanche Trace Golf Club. The Regals fired 307 strokes in round one and 318 in round two as they finished with 625 strokes. 

Jett Legacion led the way and tied for sixth at 10-over-par. She shot a 78 in round one and improved with a 76 in round two for a total of 154 strokes.

Tara Ng made it two Regals in the top-10 as she tied for eighth. She shot 12-over-par with 156 strokes. She shot a 75 on Monday and an 81 on Tuesday. 

Ashley Zook and Claire Cornejo made it four Regals in the top-15. Zook was 11th at 13-over-par and Cornejo was 14th at 16-over-par. Zook carded a 76 and 81 while Cornejo had an 80 both rounds. 

Grace Mitchell and Anna Bello also competed for the Regals. Mitchell tied for 24th at 22-over-par and Bello tied for 32ndat 28-over-par. Mitchell shot a 78 and then 88 while Bello recorded a 84 and 88. 

The Regals continued their season next weekend. Cal Lutheran hosts the CLU Regals Invitational on March 13-14.
