ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Claire Cornejo, Jett Legacion, and Tara Ng of Cal Lutheran women's golf were named Second Team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the conference announced Wednesday morning. It is the second time in program history that the Regals have had three All-SCIAC honorees.
All-SCIAC – Conference Release
Cornejo (Bakersfield, Calif.) earned her second All-SCIAC honor as she landed on the Second Team. She was All-SCIAC in the 2020-21 season. The senior led her squad at SCIAC #1 and was runner-up. She shot 74-73-147 and finished at 3-over-par. At the SCIAC Championships, she tied for 11th at 6-over-par (73-72-77-222). She tied for 25th at SCIAC #2 with 24-over-par (85-79-164). In the three legs that make up the SCIAC Championship, she had a stroke average of 76.14.
Legacion (Anaheim, Calif.) is All-SCIAC in back-to-back seasons. She was named Frist Team in 2021-22. The junior shot her best at SCIAC #2 and tied for seventh at 9-over-par (77-72-149). She made it two top-10 finishes at SCIAC events and placed 10th at the SCIAC Championships. She was the top Regal and carded a 5-over-par (77-72-72-221). She rounded out the three events with a tie for 23rd at SCIAC #1 and was 23-over-par (86-81-167). In the seven rounds, she had a stroke average of 76.71.
Ng (Castro Valley, Calif.) earned her first All-SCIAC honor and garnered Second Team. The senior had the best finish at the SCIAC #2 and placed sixth at 7-over-par (76-71-147). She was just outside the top-10 at SCIAC #1 with an 11th place finish. She carded a 16-over-par (79-81-160). At the SCIAC Championships, she tied for 17th at 11-over-par (78-72-77-227). At the three events, she had a stroke average of 76.28.
