PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's golf team competed at the UC Santa Cruz Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
Teams played 18 holes on each day at Pacific Grove Golf Links. The Par for the course is 70. The tournament consisted of 10 teams and 57 individuals.
Competing for the Regals was Claire Cornejo, Jett Legacion, Grace Mitchell, Tara Ng, and Ashley Zook. Anna Bello played as an individual. The Regals were seventh at 82-over-par. The Regals shot 334 strokes on day one and improved with 324 strokes on day two.
Cornejo tied for 15th to lead her squad. She finished at 12-over-par with 156 strokes. She carded a 79 on Saturday and a 77 on Sunday.
Zook was next as she tied for 29th. She recorded a 21-over-par. She shot an 84 and 81 for a total of 165.
Ng tied for 36th. Legacion tied for 39th, Mitchell was 52nd and Bello was 53rd. Ng was 24-over-par with 168 strokes (85-83). Legacion carded a 25-over par with 169 strokes (86-83). Mitchell shot 34-over-par (91-87-178) and Bello finished at 35-over-par (90-89-179).
Next up for the Regals is the SCIAC Championship. It is April 23-25.
