Four Kingsmen Earn All-SCIAC for Baseball

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Cal Lutheran's Zach Bullard, Austin Carrillo, Nick Fusari and Mason Snodgrass were named to the 2021 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Baseball Team which the conference announced Friday morning. All four Kingsmen earned All-SCIAC for the first time in their careers.

Bullard (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) tallied five home runs, which was tops in the conference, and tied with two other athletes. The senior totaled 36 total bases which was good for the second in the SCIAC and was ninth in walks with seven. He had a batting average of .358, an on-base percentage of .443 and a slugging percentage of .679. He totaled 19 hits, with 10 runs and two doubles, and had nine RBI. At first base for the Kingsmen, he recorded 107 putouts, and six assists, for a fielding percentage of .983. 

Carrillo (Sylmar, Calif.) was ninth in the conference in batting average with .349 and was fifth in on-base percentage with .449. With 78 plate appearances, he tallied 22 hits, one double and two triples, and added 10 walks. The sophomore scored 12 runs while touching 27 total bases. He made an impact on the base path and stole six bases, which was the fourth-most in the conference. In the outfield, he made 33 putouts and two assists for a fielding percentage of .897. 

Fusari (Alamo, Calif.) led the conference in triples with two and stolen bases with seven. The sophomore saw 87 plate appearances and had a .333 average with 25 hits, including four doubles and the two triple. He scored 11 runs and drove in eight RBI. He was walked seven times and had an on-base percentage of .400 with a slugging percentage of .440. Primarily at second base, Fusari had 29 putouts with 44 assists. He helped the Kingsmen make seven double plays and had a fielding percentage of .936. 

Snodgrass (Santa Rosa, Calif.) was second in the conference with 42.2 innings pitched. The senior started seven games to lead the Kingsmen and the conference. He had an ERA of 3.16 and struck out 5.27 batters per game. Against 163 batters, Snodgrass gave up just 38 hits and 15 earned runs. He struck out 25 as batters had just a .233 average against him. With his glove, he made four putouts and seven assists for a perfect fielding percentage. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, California Lutheran, Chapman, La Verne and Redlands were the lone participants for the SCIAC during the Spring of 2021.
