ORANGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran Baseball ended the 2021 regular season at Chapman and will turn their focus to the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. The Kingsmen lost the series to the Panthers, falling in game one, 2-1, and game two, 6-5. 

The low-scoring, game one was decided by one point, a Chapman solo homerun in the bottom of the seventh, breaking a 1-1 tie. 

Mason Snodgrass pitched seven strong innings, with five strikeouts. He allowed six hits and two earned runs. Clay Rickerman came in for the eighth and tallied one strikeout and a hit. 
 
Cal Lutheran had their chances to score, but left the bases loaded twice and were 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position. 

In game two, Tristan Dupont was on the mound. He went 4.1 innings with four hits and three earned runs. Matt Campo pitched the next 2.2 innings with one hit and one earned runs. Rickerman finished out the game and took the loss after 1.1 innings, three hits and two runs.  

Cal Lutheran scored the first two runs of the game as Harrison Dunkel and Kyle Reuser both recorded a RBI. 

Chapman answered with one run in the third and then scored three in the fifth to take a 4-2 lead. 

The Kingsmen looked to get some runs back in the top of the eighth. Nick Fusari led off with a single and Jalen Parks drew a walk. Dunkel was then hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Cal Lutheran cut the lead to one as Reuser moved up all the baserunners with a single. The Kingsmen continued to score runs and the game was tied at 4-4 as Nick Rhoades was hit by a pitch, bringing in the tying run. 

The comeback was complete as Daniel Parr hit a sac fly to put the Kingsmen ahead. Just as the Kingsmen took the lead, the Panthers answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. Chapman ended the game in the bottom of the ninth and won  6-5. 

Cal Lutheran plays in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament which will be held Friday through Sunday.
