Hahn Third, Leads Kingsmen to Second at SCIAC #1

VENTURA, Calif. — Sophomore Derek Hahn led the way for Cal Lutheran men's golf and placed third at the SCIAC #1 with a two-round score 4-over-par. The Kingsmen finished second at the event with a score of 26-over-par (303-299-602.

The event was hosted at Olivas Links with the teams shooting 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday. The SCIAC #1 use to be part of the SCIAC Championship, but is a separate tournament this year, and will only count towards head-to-head for the three competing teams

Hahn fired a 2-over-par 74 on each day for a combined total of 148 strokes. 

In his first collegiate event, freshman Garet Needham placed sixth at 7-over-par. The freshman played it cool in his first found and fired a 73, tying for the team's lowest round at the tournament. The wind had a different say on day two as he carded a 78 for a two-day score of 151.
 
Sophomore JP Guimaraes Jr. was next and tied for 7th at 9-over-par (77-76-153). Freshman Jack Spar also tied for the lowest round and finished in a tie for 10th at 11-over-par (82-73-155). 

Rounding out the Kingsmen was senior Drake Jones in 13th (+12, 80-76-156) and junior Jimmy Solano in 15th (+14, 79-79-158). 

The men's golf team is back in action on March 15-16 and host a tournament at the Moorpark Country Club.
