Hahn, Needham Place Top-10, Kingsmen 3rd at SCIAC #2

BEAUMONT, Calif. Derek Hahn and Garet Needham both finished in the top-10 as Cal Lutheran Men's Golf competed at the SCIAC #2. The event was held Saturday and Sunday at Tukwet Canyon Champions Course.

The tournament included CLU, Chapman and Redlands, and featured 16 individuals. All five Kingsmen competed for the team score as Hahn, JP Guimaraes Jr., Drake Jones, Needham and Jimmy Solano all played for the Purple and Gold. The Kingsmen finished third at 54-over-par with 630 strokes (315-315). 

Hahn tied for fourth with a score of 9-over-par. He carded a 75 on the first 18 holes and a 78 on the final 18, for a total of 153 strokes. He led the tournament with the best average on Par 3s at 3.13 with just a +1. He also tied for the most Pars with 22.

Needham was right behind Hahn and was sixth at 11-over-par. He recorded a 77 and 78 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. He finished with 155 strokes. He had the best Par 5 scoring average and was Even. He was one of two golfers to card an eagle. 

Jones just narrowly missed the top-10 as he tied for 11th at 16-over-par. He shot an 80 on both days and finished with 160 strokes. 

Guimaraes Jr. placed 13th as he finished his tournament with a score of 18-over-par with 162 strokes (83-79). 

Solano came in 16th with 23-over-par. He recorded an 83 on day one and an 84 on day two to finish with 167 strokes. 

The SCIAC Championship is next for the Kingsmen. The tournament is April 25-27 at Mountain Meadows Golf Club in  Pomona, Calif.
