THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse took on a tough opponent as No. 21 Pomona-Pitzer came to William Rolland Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Sagehens won the game 23-1.

Josie Oparanaku had the lone goal for the Regals. She also led her squad with four draw controls. Meghan Angus recorded two draw controls and Lauren Neal had one.

Bella Bravo was in goal. She had 36 shots come her way and made 13 saves. She added three ground balls and Sydney Shin and Kaitlyn Gill had two each. Hali'a Cannon and Gill both caused a turnover.

Pomona-Pitzer showed why they are No. 21 in the country and first in conference. They scored on their first possession and never looked back. The Regals trailed 11-0 after one and 15-0 at the half. The Regals broke through in the third quarter as Oparanaku got her squad on the board with 6:39 remaining. It was all the Regals could muster as the Sagehens took the game.

The Regals continue the season at home. Cal Lutheran hosts Whitworth on Thursday at 7 p.m.
