LOS ANGELES – It was the second game, of a young season, as Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse traveled to Occidental to take on the Tigers for a Wednesday night matchup.

Oxy won the game 24-2 as they dropped the Regals to 0-2 in conference, and 0-2 overall.

Goalkeeper Bella Bravo was a wall and tried to keep her squad in the game. She saw 34 shots come her way and made 10 saves.

Sydney Shin controlled the center of the field and had a game-high six draw controls. Meghan Angus was next with three.

Angus added three ground balls and was matched by Josie Oparanaku and Kaitlyn Gill. The duo of Oparanaku and Gill also led the team with two caused turnovers each.

Scoring for the Regals was Oparanaku and Anna Ripka. Oparanaku scored in the first quarter and Ripka found the back of the net in the fourth.

The Tigers jumped out to a lead and scored the first five goals. The Regals put a stop to the run, but Occidental would continue the scoring and had a 15-1 lead at the half. The Tigers never looked back and took the game.

After starting the season with two conference games, the Regals get a non-conference opponent. Cal Lutheran hosts Chatham on March 4 at 11 a.m.
