Regals Cross Country Compete in UC Riverside Invitational

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The California Lutheran University women's cross country team competed in the UC Riverside Invitational at the UCR Agriculture Operations Course on Saturday morning. It was the second meet of the season for the Regals.

Results

The Regals competed in the third race of the day, the Women's Open, which was five kilometers.

Freshman Samira Negrete led the Purple and Gold with the fastest time. She crossed the finish line with 19 minutes and 21.9 seconds and in 48th place. Her time was the second fastest time in program history at the course.

Also racing for Cal Lutheran was freshmen Cora Hautekeete and Genevieve Tichy, and senior Jasmine Rico. Rico and Tichy both ran their collegiate debuts. 

Hautekeete was the second Regal to finish and clocked a time of 20:51.9 and in 131st place. Tichy came in 170th place with a time 23:21.6 and Rico was 182nd with 28:31.8

The Regals continue their season next Saturday and travel to Santa Clarita, Calif., for The Master's Invitational at Central Park.
