Kingsmen Compete at SCIAC Championships

CHINO HILLS, Calif. — The No. 22 Cal Lutheran men's golf team is competing in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships which will be held Sunday through Tuesday at the Los Serranos Golf Club.

The champion of the SCIAC is determined by three tournaments, the SCIAC No. 1, SCIAC No. 2 and the SCIAC Championships. The championships will have live scoring for each round. You can also find the rosters and standings on the Tournament Central.

The Kingsmen enter the championships in fourth-place with 1,185 strokes, just 20 strokes back of first-place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. CLU fired 584 strokes at the No. 1, but then shot 605 strokes at the No. 2. La Verne sits in third with 1,173 strokes and Redlands is fourth with 1,182.

Standouts for the Violet and Gold thus far have been Tyler Ferrier, Ryan Kyaw and Drake Jones. Ferrier tied for second at the SCIAC No. 1 with a two-round total of 2-under-par (68-74-142). Kyaw tied for fifth at the No. 1 as he finished Even (71-73-144). Jones made it four Kingsmen in the top-15 as he tied for 14th at 4-over-par (72-76-148).

Kyaw led the Cal Lutheran at the SCIAC No. 2 as he shot a two-round total of 6-over-par (74-76-150). Jones copied his own performance from the No. 1 as he finished the No. 2 at 9-over-par and in a tie for 14th (72-81-153).
