Barnes, Guidetti and MacNeil Claim an Event Title

LOS ANGELES — California Lutheran's Alexa Barnes, Kendall Guidetti and Erin MacNeil each won an individual event as the Regals competed at the SCIAC Multi-Dual No. 3 at Bill Henry Track.

The Regals competed against Occidental, Whittier, Chapman and La Verne. California Lutheran hosted the meet.

Barnes took home the title in the discus as she recorded a length of 36.55 meters. She also placed second in the hammer throw with 44.30 meters and fourth in the shot put with 10.03 meters.

Guidetti won the title for the long jump. She put up a distance of 5.43 meters. She then placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.73. MacNeil won 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:46.44.

Cal Lutheran also saw five Regals make a mark in the CLU record books. Morgan Snyder was second and bettered her mark in the triple jump with a length of 11.11 meters, it is the third-best. Jay Rhambo was also second as she threw the fourth best mark in CLU history for the shot put. She tallied 11.50 meters.

Kelsey Rouse is now tied for fourth in CLU history for the high jump. She was third with 1.55 meters. Rouse was also second in the 100-meter hurdles and is now tied for eighth in program history with a time of 15.90.

Kate Cochran was ninth in the hammer throw with 41.33 meters. That is ninth-best in school history. Kayla Cross tied for ninth in CLU history for the pole vault. She placed fifth with a height of 2.90 meters.

The Regals also placed top-five in nine more events. Ana Cordoba was third in the 100-meter dash (12.47) and fourth in the 200 (25.97), Rachel Ereso was fourth in the 1,500-meter run (4:53.87) and fifth in the 800-meter run (2:24.84). Rebecca Kozlowski was third in the 100-meter hurdles (17.08), Alex Portis tied for fourth in the high jump (1.50 meters), Rhambo was fourth in the hammer throw (36.22 meters), Cochran was fifth in the discus (34.73) and Olivia Becker was fifth in the 5,000-meter run (21:12.92).

Up next for the Regals is the SCIAC Championships which will be held Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, in Redlands, Calif.
