Regals Finish with 11 Top-10 Marks

CLAREMONT, Calif. — The California Lutheran women's track and field team placed in the top-10 eleven times as the Regals competed in the Pomona-Pitzer Collegiate All Comers Saturday at Strehle Track. It was the first meet of 2018 for the Regals.

Cal Lutheran's Alexa Barnes led the Regals at the meet. She was the runner-up in the hammer throw and her toss was 43.73 meters long. On CLU's Top-10 list, it is seventh best. She had another top-five finish as she placed fifth in the discus. She threw for a distance of 35.32 meters.

Allie Portis turned in a third-place finish in the high jump. She jumped to a height of 1.55 meters. Morgan Snyder made it three Regals to finish in the top-five of an event. She placed fourth in the javelin with 30.72 meters. That length is seventh-best on the program's top-10 list. She also placed ninth in the shot put with 9.08 meters.

The Regals continued to shine as Ana Cordoba took home sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.45 seconds. That time is sixth-best in CLU's history. She also came in eighth in the 200-meter dash with 26.39.

Kendall Guidetti turned in a sixth-place finish in the long jump with 5.30 meters. Kate Cochran was seventh in the hammer throw and eighth in the discus with throws of 37.70 and 31.89 meters, respectively.

The Regals top performances kept on coming as Kayla Cross was sixth in the pole vault with 2.75 meters. That height was 10th-best in CLU's history. Rachel Ereso then raced to a 16th- place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:47.89. That time is eighth-best in program history.

The Regals are back at it Saturday, Feb. 24 and compete in the Rossi Relays Invitational in Claremont, Calif.
