Regals Move Up One Spot, Now Fifth

COMMERCE, Calif. —  California Lutheran's Mardell Ramirez, Grace Sanchez, Alexia Rojas and Brianna Baldwin received All-SCIAC honors for their performances Thursday during day two of the SCIAC Championships.

Ramirez garnered her All-SCIAC honors as she was the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle with a quick time of four minutes and 56.52 seconds.

Ramirez then combined with Baldwin, Rojas and Sanchez to earn All-SCIAC honors in the 200-yard medley relay as the team swam to a third-place finish with a time of 1:36.83.  

Sanchez just missed All-SCIAC honors 50-yard free as she finished fourth with a time of 23.65. Kimberly Mehl competed for the Violet and Gold on the one-meter dive and finished eighth with 366.65 points.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps have the lead after day two with 390 points. Pomona-Pitzer and Chapman are second and third with 377 and 222 points, respectively. Redlands is fourth with 196 and Cal Lutheran is fifth with 183.
