Fraye Scores as Kingsmen Soccer Host Redlands

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Ryan Fraye received a beautiful ball from Michael Bogart and headed in the lone goal of the contest for Cal Lutheran men's soccer.

It was an intense game, with hard play on both sides, as the Redlands Bulldogs defeated the Kingsmen 2-1 on Friday night.

The game wrapped up a two-game slate between the teams, with both being counted as exhibitions.

Redlands scored both of their goals in the first half and had the lead at the break. The Kingsmen broke through in the second half. After CLU was awarded a free kick, Bogart curved a nice ball in to the box. Fraye was there as he headed the ball to the back-left corner.

There were chances for both sides the rest of the way, but the score remained the same after 90 minutes were up.

Fraye led the way in offence with three shots, two being on goal. Daniel Whitworth, Erick Mejia and Kai Nemoto each added a shot on goal.

With a game filled with intensity, it wasn't short of rough play. Both teams were called for double-digit fouls, with Cal Lutheran tallying 12 and Redlands with 10.

The Kingsmen have one more game this spring. Cal Lutheran travels to Westmont on April 3 at 12 p.m.
