Kingsmen Take on Redlands in Exhibition Match

REDLANDS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's soccer team took on the Redlands Bulldogs in the first of two exhibitions matches that will be played this spring between the schools. Redlands won the exhibition 3-0 on Friday night.

The Kingsmen were able to gain experience and build chemistry as 22 different players got time on the pitch.

CLU had the first chances to score, as Juan Valencia tallied two shots on goal in the first minute. The Kingsmen took three more shots in the first half, and had a corner kick, but were not able to convert. Michael Bogart recorded two shots and Tyler Sherard had one more. 

The Bulldogs took one more shot, and one more shot on goal, than the Kingsmen in the first half. Redlands scored on two of those shots and took a 2-0 lead at the half. 

Redlands scored one more goal in the second half and held off the Kingsmen to win the game 3-0. 

On March 26th, the Kingsmen will host the Bulldogs in the second match. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
