Sebastian Clinches on Senior Day; Regals Defeat Colorado College

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Lauren Sebastian got the clinch on Senior Day as Cal Lutheran women's tennis defeated Colorado College 5-4 on Saturday afternoon. The Regals have one senior and honored Henna Levanen before the dual. 

The Regals won all three doubles matches and took a commanding lead. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi won 8-4 at the No. 1 spot, Luisa Garcia and Sebastian were victorious 8-6 at the No. 2 and Gerda Jucys and Kayla Kling won 8-2 at the No. 3. 

Bufkin  made it 4-0 as she started singles play with a win. She took the No. 1 spot with a score of 6-2, 6-1. Colorado College made their move and won the next four singles matches. Garcia fell 2-6, 3-6 at the No. 2, Jucys lost 0-6, 6-7 (3-7) at the No. 4, Ahmadi fell 6-0, 2-6, 3-6 at the No. 5 and Reya Maestas lost 1-6, 4-6 at the No. 6. The dual came down to Sebastian and the No. 3 spot. She lost the first set 3-6 and had ground to make up. She made the comeback winning the next two sets 6-4, 6-3. 

The Regals finished the regular season 9-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play. Cal Lutheran has the Ojai Tournament remaining on April 27-30.
