Regals Fall to Redlands in Conference Opener

REDLANDS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's tennis started conference play on the road and traveled to Redlands on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs defeated the Regals 8-1.

Carmen Bufkin scored the lone point for the Regals. She won at the No. 1 singles spot with scores of 6-2, 6-3. 

Redlands took the rest of the singles wins as Luisa Garcia fell 6-2,6-2 at the No. 2, Mina Ahmadi was defeated 6-3, 6-1, Reya Maestas fell 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4, Gerda Jucys went down 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Kayla Kling was defeated 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 6. 

The Bulldogs also took all three doubles matches as Bufkin and Ahmadi were defeated 8-5 at the No.1, Garcia and Maestas went down 8-4 at the No. 2 and Jucys and Henna Levanen fell 8-7 (5) at the No. 3. 

The Regals look to bounce back on Monday. Cal Lutheran hosts Grinnell at 4 p.m.
