Regals Drop Dual to Caltech

PASADENA, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's tennis hit the road on Saturday afternoon and took on the Beavers of Caltech. The Beavers won the matchup against the Regals, 6-3.

The Regals took one of the three doubles matches. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi won the No. 1 spot 8-3. The Beavers had the lead after doubles as Lauren Sebastian and Luisa Garcia fell 4-8 at the No. 2 and Gerda Jucys and Reya Maestas were defeated 4-8 at the No. 3. 

Cal Lutheran won two singles matches as they put pressure on the Beavers. Bufkin won 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 at the No. 1 and Kayla Kling was victorious 5-7, 7-6 (3), 10-5 at the No. 6. 

Caltech took the matches in between as Garcia fell 0-6, 2-6 at the No. 2, Sebastian was defeated 0-6, 1-6 at the No. 3, Ahmadi fell 1-6, 1-6 at the No. 4, and Jucys was defeated 1-6, 2-6 at the No. 5. 

The Regals continue the season at home. Cal Lutheran hosts Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday at 1 p.m.
