Regals Tie Panthers; Set to Host SCIAC Tournament Semis

ORANGE, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's soccer team tied the Chapman Panthers 1-1 and now look forward to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament this next weekend.

The Regals are the No. 2 seed and are now 6-1-5 in conference and 9-4-5 overall. Cal Lutheran will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday night in the SCIAC Tournament semis.

Elisa Shott scored her first goal of the year, getting the Regals on the board in the 11th minute. Chapman answered in the first half. The Panthers got the equalizer at the 28th minute. 

Kelsey Slaugh was in goal and made two saves, but allowed the game-tying goal from Chapman 

The Cal Lutheran had 17 shots as six got on goal. Cate Boller, Izzy Martinez, Macey Peery, Darya Rasoli and Lily Hatanaka each tested the Panther goalkeeper. 

The defense for the Regals allowed just six shots, with two on goal, as they gave the offense a chance. Both teams had their chances, but after 90 minutes, the game remained tied. 

The Regals continue 2022 in the postseason and will get ready for CMS.
