THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's soccer went toe-to-toe with Hope International as the game ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie on Thursday night.

The teams were evenly matched with both teams getting shots on the goal, and both defenses holding their own.

Gabby Flores got the start in goal and had eight saves during the 110 minutes. She had five saves in the second half as she combined with the Regals' defense for the third shutout of the season.

CLU recorded 16 shots on the night, led by Dina Draguicevich with three. Five more Regals tallied two shots as Sonia Chan, Jalynne Magana, Natalia Valladares, Isabella Veljacic and Danielle Vis had chances, but could not find the back of the net.

However, out of thre 16 shots, the Regals only recorded six on goal. Magana had two, while Chan, Draguicevich, Darya Rasoli and Vis each added one.

The Royals of Hope International also had their chances and had eight corner kicks. The Regals defensive, starting unit of Kaitlyn Chandler, Trinity Martinez, Katie Weaver and Vis were up for the task. The subs also kept the clean sheet and Flores made two incredible saves.

The Purple and Gold held their own against a tough NAIA team and controlled the ball for 55-percent of the game.

The Regals have added more games to their schedule and hit the road for their next contest. Cal Lutheran will be at Cypress on Wednesday for a game at 4 p.m.
