Regals Dominate Bulldogs; Send Seniors Out with a Win

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran Women's Soccer sent its seniors out on a high note as the Regals dominated the Redlands Bulldogs 3-0 on Wednesday night. During the Regals' two games with Redlands, the defense never conceded a goal, and had a goal differential of 5-0.

The Purple and Gold said goodbye to five seniors on the night, with Cate Boller, Remi Miller, Jazmin Ramos, Morgan Salzwedel and Hannah Trengove all graduating in May.

Salzwedel got the start in goal and made one save during 28 minutes of action. Trengove and Ramos patrolled the midfield, helping the defense secure a second straight shutout. Miller and Boller had opportunities on the offensive end, recording two and one shots, respectively. 

The Regals got offense from all over the place as Sonia Chan, Izzy Martinez and Danielle Vis all found the back of the net. 

Chan score in the 30th minute, with the assist coming from Mandy Crawford. Martinez (46th minute) and Vis (73rd minute) both scored unassisted goals. 

The Purple and Gold continued to dominate Redlands for the second straight game. The Regals outshot the Bulldogs 22-9 and controlled the ball for 61-percent of the time. 

Gabby Flores took over for Salzwedel in goal, and made five saves, as the Regals never let Redlands in the game.

Cal Lutheran is back in action on Saturday. The Regakls travel to Westmont for a game at 3:15 p.m.
