THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis won its first conference dual of the year, defeating Whittier 7-2 on Friday afternoon.
The Kingsmen took two of the three doubles matches. Parker McBride and Aaron Moylan won 8-2 at the No. 1 and Cade Haffner and Jacob de la Paz were victorious 8-6 at the No. 3. Whittier scored their first point as Darvel Lossangoye and Friedrich Ludwig were defeated 3-8 at the No. 2.
Cal Lutheran kept the points coming and took five of the six singles matches. McBride won 6-0, 6-2 at the No.1, Lossangoye was victorious 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2, Moylan won 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3, de la Paz won 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 4, and Haffner was victorious 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 5. The lone singles loss came at No. 6 as Ludwig fell 3-6, 6-2, 4-6.
The Kingsmen are back in action on Saturday. Cal Lutheran is at Caltech at 2 p.m.
