LOS ANGELES — Cal Lutheran's Kiana Gray has been named to the women's basketball Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) First Team. It was announced Thursday morning following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.
A native of Agoura, Calif., Gray earned her first All-SCIAC team nod. She led the Regals in scoring with 11 points per game. She added 6.9 rebounds a game, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals. She helped the Regals to a 10-6 conference record as they claimed the No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
As a senior, Gray was a focal point of the Regals' offense. She scored a career-high 19 points against La Verne on Jan. 20. She scored 10-plus points in 17 games. She recorded two double-double on the year in points and rebounds. She shot 37-percent from the field, 31-percent from three-point range and 88.9-percent from the free throw line.
Chapman's Lucy Criswell was named the SCIAC Athlete of the Year, Pomona-Pitzer's Emma Godfrey was the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year, Chapman Irma Munoz received the Ed Baldwin Sportsmanship award and Chapman's Carol Jue garnered the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year honor.
Cal Lutheran takes on Chapman Thursday night at 7 p.m. as the Regals travel to Orange, Calif., for the semifinals of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
