THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University's Sonia Chan, Trinity Martinez and Isabella Veljacic represented Regals soccer on the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams. The trio was named to the association's Region X Second Team. 

Martinez earned her second All-Region honor and has now been named to the Second Team twice. Chan and Veljacic both earned the All-Region honor for the first time. 

The Regals ended their season in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championship game. They are the only SCIAC school to make the postseason tournament every year. 

Chan (Foster City, Calif.) earned the All-Region honor for the first time in her career. She was also named First Team All-SCIAC. The senior midfielder tied for third on the team with four goals and added two assists. She totaled 18 shots, with 11 on goal, for a shots-on-goal percentage of .611. She tied for the team-high of three game-winning goals.  

Martinez (Northridge, Calif.) was named Second Team All-Region for the second time in her career. She earned All-SCIAC for the third time.  Primarily a defender, Martinez has added two goals. Both of which were game-winning goals. With Martinez in the game, the Regals have shutout 10 opponents. 

Veljacic (Monterey Park, Calif.) had a standout junior year and was selected All-Region Second Team. It was her first such honor and the first time she was named All-SCIAC. She led the Purple and Gold with 10 goals, a hat trick against Redlands, and added two assists. She had the second-most goals in the conference. As a forward, Veljacic took 37 shots, landing 21 on goal, for a percentage of .568. She scored three game-winning goals and was successful on her lone penalty kick. 

After a successful 2021, the Regals look to reload and get back to the SCIAC Tournament, and the NCAA Tournament, in 2022.
