Regals Win Wire-to-Wire Against Bethesda; Hit Century Mark

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's basketball won wire-to-wire and took down Bethesda 105-65 on Thursday night.

The Regals hit the century mark for the first time since 2020 and improved to 2-0 on the year.

Sara Mills led the way with 23 points, hitting four three-pointers, and added six rebounds. Grace Godines was next with 14 points and Janna Holley had 13 points, six assists and six steals. 

Annie Winton came off the bench to score 13 points, Aliya DiMuro had 10 and Karina McMillan added eight. McMillan led the team with seven assists and Alexa Greenwood had eight rebounds, four of which were offensive. 

The Regals shot 47.1-percent from the field and 42.9 from three. Cal Lutheran had just 10 turnovers and forced the Flames into 30. The Regals had 43 points off turnovers, 28 second chance points, 48 points in the paint, 20 fast break points and 40 bench points. Their largest lead of the game was 42 points.

Cal Lutheran found offense from everywhere on the court as 12 Regals scored. They started quick and finished strong. The Regals outscored the Flames every quarter and took a 27-17 lead after one. It was closer in the second quarter, 22-20, as Cal Lutheran had a 49-37 lead at the break. The Regals opened up the game in the second half outscoring the Flames 29-15 in the third and 27-13 in the fourth. It was a complete team win as they hit the century mark and won their second consecutive game. 

The Regals hit the road for their next four contests. Cal Lutheran starts conference play on Saturday at Chapman with tipoff set for 2 p.m.
