Kingsmen Fall to Chapman in Regular Season Finale; Drop to No. 3 Spot in Conference

ORANGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's water polo fell to Chapman 14-11 on Saturday afternoon. 

The loss dropped the Kingsmen to 7-4 in conference and 13-14 overall. Cal Lutheran is in the No. 3 spot for the conference tournament which starts next week.

Chapman outscored Cal Lutheran 4-2 in the first quarter and 3-2 in the second as the Panthers took a 7-4 lead at the half. The Kingsmen continued to fight throughout the entirety of the game, but were not able to close the gap down the stretch.

Dillon Goldsmith and Luke Matthies led the way with four goals each. Matthies was big on offense and defense as he added four steals. 

Bo DuBois was in the cage, and came up with big saves, to give his team a fighting chance. He made nine saves, but took the loss.

The Kingsmen advance to the SCIAC Tournament with date and opponent being announced soon.
