2013-14 (Swimming)
Recorded three season-best times at the SCIAC Championships (Feb. 21)...swam the 100 breast in a time a of 1:02.79...also completed the 200 breast in a time of 2:13.67...finished up the conference championships with the 200 IM where he completed the race in a time of 2:05.29...swam the 50 free in a season-best time of 24.77 at the Chris Knorr Invitational (Jan. 3)...also swam the 100 free in a time of 53.77 at the UCSC Slug/Finis Invite (Nov. 22)...also competed in the 200, 500, 1000 free events during the season.

2012-13 (Swimming)
Recorded three season-best times at the SCIAC Championships (Feb. 17-19) in the 100 Breast (1:00.24), 200 Breast (2:14.36) and 200 IM (2:02.31)…recorded two season best times at the Malibu Invitational (Oct. 26-27) in the 50 Breast (30.00) and 50 Fly (27.16)…fastest times of the season also include a 10:47.35 in the 1000 Free against Occidental (Jan. 26), a 18:19.25 in the 1650 Free against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Jan. 12) and a 4:45.07 in the 400 IM at the Finis Invitational (Nov. 30- Dec. 2).

2011-12 (Swimming)
Recorded three season best times at the SCIAC Championships (Feb. 19-21) in the 100 Breast (59.77), 200 Breast (2:11.84) and 200 IM (2:01.99)…recorded two season best times at the Finis Collegiate Invitational (Dec. 9) in the 50 Free (23.72) and the 100 Free (53.27)…fastest times during the season also include a 1:57.73 in the 200 Free at the CLU Winter Invite (Dec. 30), a 5:15.51 in the 500 Free against Redlands (Jan. 21), a 10:50.83 in the 1000 Free against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Jan. 28) and a 29.56 in the 50 Breast at the Malibu Invitational (Oct. 22).

Grand Canyon University
Attended GCU for one year...used red shirt as part of swim team.

Wilson High School
Member of Rams varsity swim and water polo teams for four years each...earned all-state honors for water polo twice...greatest personal sports moment was winning the state tournament his senior year for water polo.

Full name: Zachary Robert Kaija...born on Feb. 11, 1992, in Tacoma, Wash...is one of Craig and Wendy Kaija's three children...has an older brother Jake who is a senior on the CLU swim team...has a younger brother Ben competes in baseball, swimming and water polo at the HS level...family resides in Tacoma, Wash...majoring in communications.
