LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Junior Rachel Ereso and freshmen Veronica Redpath and Caroline Slate all moved their way up in the Cal Lutheran Regals all-time records list after their performances in Saturday's Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
The record-breaking afternoon continued as the Regals brought home a total of five new personal records. Senior Kylie Rodriguez and freshman Sam Torres notched theirs in the 1500m run; Rodriguez clocked in a 5:20.60 (69th), senior Cameron Baggs at 5:35.31 (86th) and Torres at 5:52.57 (96th).
Also with a new lifetime-best, Redpath ran a 12:35.64 in the 3000m steeplechase, good for 11th and the seventh best time in program history.
She is joined by Ereso, who ran a personal-best 18:24.73 in the 5000m run (59th). Her time moves her up from seventh to fourth on the all-time list. In the same race, senior Sarah Parsons recorded a season-best 20:14.51 (132nd).
Closing out the group, Slate ran the 10K for the first time as a Regal and crossed the line at 42:10.36 (13th), the eighth best time in school history.
The team returns to the track on Friday, March 15, for the Redlands Invitational. Events kick off at 3:30 p.m. at the Ashel Cunninham Track.
