Sharpe, Conrad Crack CLU Top-10 List; Regals Remain Seventh with 116 Points

COMMERCE, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran women's swim and dive team stayed stagnant on day two of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships and remain seventh with 116 points.

On Friday, the Regals competed in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and the 200-freestyle relay.

Emily Sharpe and Avery Conrad had a successful day as both broke into the CLU record books and sit eighth for their event. Sharpe finished 13th in the 500 free with five minutes and 14.90 seconds while Conrad was 17th in the 200 individual medley with 2:14.67. 

"It was a fantastic session for the women," said head coach Barry Schreifels. "Across the board, we had big time drops. Emily and Avery had their best times in their respective events and earned their success. Emily rededicated herself for her senior year."

The 200 free relay closed the night and consisted of an A and B finals heat. In sixth place, Brianna BaldwinKyrie Fairbairn, Sharpe and Brieyana Walton clocked in at 1:40.74. In the B final, Aubrey BlickmanEmily GlassJaclyn Holtz and Ivana Reyes finished 16thwith 1:46.57. 

Day three is a go at 9 a.m. and has prelims for the 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breast, 100-yard back, and 400-yard medley relay (optional). The finals for the same events are at 5 p.m. with the 400 medley relay starting approximately at 7:30.
