Cal Lutheran returns to the SCIAC postseason as the fourth seed after posting a 16-10 ledger highlighted by a 9-5 mark in conference play. The Regals, who are making their 15th appearance in the conference playoffs, won the 2021 SCIAC tournament title - their third overall having previously won tournament championships in 2019 and 2009. Cal Lutheran has also finished as runners-up twice (2018 and 2008).

Lexi Rond has been on a tear and has totaled 95 goals this season, 42 more than the next player, which is her teammate Kemi Dijkstra with 53. The first non-Cal Lutheran player is next with 49.

The goals have been dished out and four Regals are top-10 in the nation for assists. Kaitlin Gardhouse is third with 38, Jess Diaz and Bethany Metcalfe are tied for fifth with 27 and Jacsen Donohue is eighth with 26.

More top leaders for the Purple and Gold are Rond with 81 drawn ejections and Diaz with 57 steals and 25 field blocks. Izzy De Souza has been in goal for the majority of the game. She has 13 wins, 227 saves, 22 steals and 19 assists.

The SCIAC charges admission for its championship events, with tickets available through Ticketleap in advance, which are $8 for adults, or free for children under 12. Students, staff and faculty with a SCIAC school ID receive free admission. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $10.
