Snyder Reaches Podium as Regals Notch 12 Top Ten Finishes on Day Two

REDLANDS, Calif.Morgan Snyder reached the podium on day two of the SCIAC Track & Field Championships, leading the way as the Cal Lutheran Regals recorded 12 top ten finishes Saturday afternoon.

Snyder locked in third place in the women's triple jump at 11.19 meters, breaking her previous career-best of 11.11 meters recorded two weeks ago the SCIAC Mulit-Dual No. 3. The jump is now the second-best mark recorded in program history and exceeds the former second place mark of 11.14 meters set by Kourtney Jones in 2011. Snyder also finished sixth in the javelin throw at 31.42 meters. 

Also in the top five, Jay Rhambo finished fourth in the hammer throw at 43.11 meters to move up into eighth in the school's all-time record list, just .01 meters farther than Luci Lapp's record from 2010. Kendall Guidetti, Anna Schlosser, Stephanie Williamson and Ana Cordoba also found themselves at fourth with a 49.07 second run in the 4x100 meter relay.

Cordoba then went on to also earn sixth in the 100-meter dash (12.41 seconds) and seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.84 seconds). 

Kelsey Rouse rounded out the top five finishers and finished fifth in the high jump at 1.57 meters.

Rachel Ereso led the Regals with four top-ten finishes. She finished sixth in the 4x400 meter relay with Rouse, Kylie Rodriguez and Cordoba with a 4:11.95 run; sixth in the 100-meter dash at 12.41 seconds; seventh in the 1500-meter run at 4:51.90; and tenth in the 5000-meter run at 18:37. 

Closing out the top-ten finishes, Kate Cochran threw 40.37 meters in the hammer throw to finish sixth and Guidetti ran a 12.73-second 100-meter dash to finish ninth.
