WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran Women's Basketball Head Coach Lindsay Samaniego was honored as a recipient of a 2019 40 Under Forty Award this spring by the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. 

"I appreciate the opportunity Cal Lutheran has given me to lead our Women's Basketball program and put me in a position to mentor our student-athletes. I love watching their growth over the years and I'm very proud of how we give back to our community," said Samaniego. 

In her six seasons at the helm of the Regals' program, Samaniego has accrued an 91-66 overall record and five Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason tournament appearances. She has coached eight all-conference athletes, including 2014 Newcomer of the Year Chelsea Jacoby and 2017 Player of the Year Jessica Salottolo. 

"[Samaniego] has dedicated 12 years to coaching and mentoring young women in the community formerly at Moorpark College and currently at Cal Lutheran University. Throughout her career, she is proudest of the growth she has seen in her student-athletes, and the community service they have performed over the years. From Habitat for Humanity to volunteering with the Special Olympics and YMCA to involving local youth at home games," released the Chamber of Commerce.
